Ex-Mexican Mafia Member/ Former FBI Informant Stabs Derek Chauvin 22 Times
John Turscak's Agreement Would Continue "As Long As The FBI Deemed Necessary"
Derek Chauvin’s stabber John Turscak doesn’t know life outside the prison system. He’s been behind bars for at least 36 years and he’s 52. That means he’s had run-ins with the law since age 16. He was serving a 30-year sentence for crimes committed while being a member of the Mexican Mafia prison gang. He had 30 months to the gate, as they say. Meaning he was finally going to be released in 2026.
It’s not easy getting inducted into the Mexican Mafia. You have to do bad things. And if you are accepted into the gang but you’re really a federal agent, then I imagine things can get rough.

What I failed to mention earlier was that Levin just wanted to protect the two because they were now government witnesses and Torvisco was their star.
The 2001 trial netted Martinez life in prison plus 130 years. Torvisco testified to ordering as many as 140 hits for Martinez and the organization.
Levin stated it was all Turscak’s fault as to why the jury had refused to return a Death Verdict on a boss man named Mariano “Chuy” Martinez. But in truth, Torvisco was one of the shooters and was officially given membership to the EME as a reward for carrying this incident.
Levin claimed Turscak had lied but that was a lie in itself.
The jury had not deadlocked because of him.
“The minute we caught the government’s star witness lying ….
